Who we are
Small World Kindergarten and Montessori is able to provide flexibility when it comes to childcare. We not only follow a Montessori ethos and curriculum but we also have a fully qualified primary school teacher preparing the pre-schoolers. We offer children from 11 months to 5 years, term time or all year care in a way that works for parents who need a flexible approach to childcare.
We have a modern purpose built premises tucked away on Paget road near Christchurch Park.
There are three well equipped classrooms and a safe, all-weather outdoor classroom and play area.
An Experienced Nursery Manager leads a team of 8 experienced staff, that are all qualified to a minimum of a level 3 with several at a level 4, 5 & 6 (Qualified teacher status QTS) as well paediatric first aid and Montessori practice, which ensures a high standard of care and education.

Day Nursery Facilities
Our modern day nursery is spacious, airy and light. Inside there are three classrooms refurbished in 2019 and equipped to allow open shelves for our Montessori nursery. The internal layout has been arranged for easy accessibility and maximum creative space, and extensive resources to provide high quality childcare.
The larger room named the apple classroom, is for children over three, it offers Montessori equipment and activities with creative areas for colouring, cutting, sticking and play-dough. An easel for painting and other messy play, important to a child’s development, is always on offer and this includes baking their own pudding once a week. We have practical life activities such as pouring, threading and tonging (that help the children develop the necessary muscle strength needed for a pencil grip) along with areas for mathematics, sensorial, cultural and literacy. In quiet nooks we have loose parts play and a home corner where the children can creatively role play with each other. Large double doors lead to a covered outdoor classroom that is set up each morning allowing us to teach creatively when accessing the outside throughout the day.
The second classroom is named Blossoms and is our 2-3 year old room, here children start to learn to self select toys and games to play with as well as cosy areas, book nooks and a little wooden kitchen for them to role play in. The ratio is 1:4 and the focus is adult led activities such as singing and messy play along with fun topics and themes to teach by.
Our third classroom saplings will open over Easter 2021, it will provide a light bright space for children from 11 months to 2 years, limited availability, so please book early to avaoid disappointment.
